Missing Person Investigation becomes a Death Investigation w/Arrest

New Ellenton, SC (13 May 2019, 10:50 am) – Early this morning around 5:00 am, units from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, SLED and Aiken DPS executed search warrants at two homes in New Ellenton.  These search warrants are the result of an on-going investigation surrounding the disappearance of Derrick Jai Curry (20) who was reported missing on or about May 1, 2019.  Evidence and supporting information led investigators to a home in Aiken where Curry was alleged to have been shot and killed. As the investigation continues, investigators are still working towards finding Curry’s remains. Today’s search warrants were executed at 511 Green Street and 109 Keen Avenue.  Recent developments in this investigation led investigator in obtaining arrest warrants for Denzell Deshawn Jackson (18) and Shakel Rakeem Dixon (20) charging them both with Murder.  Jackson was arrest at his home on Green Street in New Ellenton.  Dixon, believed to have been at 109 Keen Ave was not located.  Jackson was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center without incident.  Dixon should be considered armed and dangerous.
