Wagener, SC (14 August 2019, 10:00 am) – On August 13, 2019, around 9:13 pm, Aiken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 113 Main St N. in Wagener (Harry’s Convenience Store) for a report of an armed robbery.  When responding deputies arrived on scene, the victim (store clerk) reported that the suspect, identified as James Herman Hammond (46 yo), grabbed her in a choke hold, threaten her with a knife and demanded money.  Hammond released the victim when another customer pulled into the parking lot and fled the store. Hammond is described as a black male, with gray/black facial hair, 5’6” tall and approximately 130 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black jeans and a black ball cap.  Hammond is wanted for Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery High and Aggravated, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime and Larceny.
