Information Sought in Graniteville Death Investigation

Graniteville, SC (18 December 2019, 8:15 am) – The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a late night shooting incident that claimed the lives of a mother and her child. On December 17th around 11:03 pm, deputies responded to 105 Kalmia Apartment Drive for reports of shots fired. When the responding deputies arrived on scene, they found an unresponsive adult female on the floor of the apartment with an apparent gunshot wound to her body. A second victim, an infant, was also identified as being injured from the shooting incident. Aiken County EMS responded to the scene, where the female victim was pronounced deceased. The infant was transported to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment where he was later pronounced deceased. Witnesses reported hearing numerous gunshots that came from the rear of the apartment. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance on information that would lead to the identity and arrest of three suspects. The suspects fled the area prior to deputies arriving on scene. These suspects should be considered as armed and dangerous.
