Capt. Richard Sullivan

Technical Services Division

Capt. Richard Sullivan joined the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office in October of 2011 as a Deputy in the Detention Division. After serving in the Detention Division Capt. Sullivan transferred to Road Patrol Deputy with the Uniformed Patrol Division in March of 2013.

He served in that capacity until he was promoted to Corporal of the Uniformed Patrol Division in July of 2018. While as Corporal, Capt. Sullivan worked with other senior staff members to come up with new training ideas and forms for the Uniform Patrol Division as well as training new hired Deputies. Capt. Sullivan assisted the Technical Services Division in early 2021 with transitioning to a new CAD and Records Management system. With the previous knowledge of Training experience Capt. Sullivan was then promoted to Communications Supervisor to restructure the training procedures for the Communication Division. 

Capt. Sullivan held the rank of Lieutenant while as the Communications Supervisor and was promoted to Captain in 2022. Capt. Sullivan is a Life Saving Award Recipient. Capt. Sullivan now serves as a Specific Skills Instructor, Hostage Negotiator, and currently oversees the Daily operations of the Technical Services Division to include, Information Technology, Records and Radio Management.
